Body Shape And Bikni For You
Long Body / Legs
Go for horizontal stripes, strong bright colours or the cut-out style swimwear ranges. You can also wear little skirt-style swimwear and boyish shorts.
Short Body / Legs
Go for a high cut style on thigh. This will give the illusion of a longer leg. Avoid shorts and short-skirted bikinis. The idea is to draw the eye upwards, so for example choose a printed bikini top with a plain bottom or vertical stripes.
Pear / Triangle Shape
Such body needs to bring attention to the top part of your body to balance it out. So you should wear halter-top bikinis. Also choose a bikini which has a light colour or light print on upper half with plain bottoms.Don't wear high-cut legs. They will emphasise your hips.
Slender
For the slender athletic figures, where the breasts, waist and hips are in the right proportion, most types of swimsuits will sit perfectly. However, to look a little extra trendy and to add more definition to your waist, think of wrap up style tops and belted bottoms.
Broad Shoulders
Choose suits with wide straps. These will minimise the broadness of your top. Also choose more colour and pattern on the bottom part of your body to bring attention to it. High-cut legs will also balance out your figure
Rectangular
You will need to create the illusion of curves. Bikinis will be great for you and choose swimsuits with panels and piping that will give the illusion of curves. Panels are a great shape creator. Go for strong colours and never wear stripes.
Larger Bust
Halter necks
are a great option for this body-type, as they offer support and also
give a sexy cleavage. Another alternative is to wear an all-in-one with
support on the top, such as a shelf bra or foam-padded cups. Avoid
strapless tops and opt for wide shoulder straps as opposed to thin
spaghetti style ones, as they will offer better support and will be
more comfortable. Halter neck swimwear is classic, sexy and elegant.
Small Bust
Women with small busts should give halter top bikinis a try, and if you can find one, which has a seam running just under the bust line and is slightly padded, nothing like it. Alternatively, look for a swimsuit in a fabric that is a little textured to distract the attention away from the small breasts.
Fuller Tummy
Don't wear white or bright colours. Choose a dark colour swimsuit like chocolate brown, dark blue or black. 'Rouched' fabrics and textured surfaces will be very good for you as they will be very flattering to your figure by tucking it in. As a cover up, sarongs are good for you as they will take the focus away from the tummy.
